All CAA Licence Exams Cancelled in UK until 1st March

Message received from the UK CAA today (5 Jan 21)

“Dear ATOs and Invigilators,

I am sorry to advise that due to rapidly increasing Covid -19 infections nationally and following the Prime Minister’s announcement of a national Lockdown as well as lockdown restrictions in Scotland, the UKCAA Senior Management have concluded that we must cancel all exams scheduled to be sat, from next week, for January and February in all UK locations (England and Scotland), this applies to both open and ATO dedicated venues and for flight crew and engineers.

For bookings already confirmed, the exams team will be cancelling all bookings for this period over the next few days, candidates and ATO’s will receive a system generated cancellation notice and exam fees will be refunded to the portal account which made the booking, for future use.

Bookings for March 2021 sittings will remain in place and will be reviewed in due course as the situation develops.

We are dealing with the immediate cancellation requirements at the moment, but we will review the situation regularly and will work with you to accommodate future exam requirements when we are in a position to restart.”

+ Update 8 Jan re March Bookings

Further info from the UK CAA regarding March bookings after the cancellation of all UK venue exams in Jan/Feb.

"Candidates with bookings will receive a notification when their exam is cancelled, and the fees will be returned to the portal account which made the booking.

Current bookings in place for March will remain but no further bookings will be permitted at this time due to the uncertainty, this also includes dates for booking after March which are not open yet. This will be reviewed in February and a decision will be made in line with government guidelines as the situation develops."
