INFORMATION BULLETIN FROM AUSTROCONTROL – 8 Sep 20
Information regarding the introduction of ECQB 2020
Austro Control hereby announces that as of 1 January 2021 ECQB 2020 will be implemented for all pilot examinations (CPL; IR; ATPL)
This means that as of 1 January 2021 candidates will not be able to book "Old Syllabus" exams (ECQB 6 or 7) for their first attempt, however, for candidates who have already started the series, ECQB 6 or 7 will remain available in parallel to ECQB 2020 until the end of January 2022. Students who have already started their exams before 1 January 2021 may finish their exams using the current ECQB version until 31 January 2022 (as the last possible exam day). Alternatively, they may change to ECQB 2020 after 1 January 2021.
From 1.02. 2022, all registered candidates must take their examinations with ECQB 2020. Any candidates who have not completed the full set of examinations by this cut-off date will be required to finish their examinations following the ECQB 2020 syllabus.
We would like to point out that a change to ECQB 2020 is possible at any time after 1 January 2021, but once candidates have changed to ECQB 2020 and its syllabus, it is not possible to return to the old ECQB / syllabus. If you decide to change to ECQB 2020 after 1 January 2021, you should consult your ATO to ensure you are properly prepared for the new syllabus and please note that any resits required under the old syllabus must be completed before you can take your first ECQB 2020 exam.
